Anderlecht vs Tottenham Hotspur, Europa League 2015/16: Where to watch live, preview, betting odds and possible XI
Anderlecht host Tottenham Hotspur in the third group game of the Europa League on 22 October as the Belgians look for their first win in the tournament. Tottenham, on the other hand, currently have four points, after winning the opening game against Qarabag and later earning a point against Monaco in the next group game.
Where to watch live
Kick-off is set for 6pm BST. Live coverage of the game will be on BT Sport Europe and BT Sport Europe HD.
Overview
The Belgians suffered a shock defeat at the hands of Qarabag in the group and have only managed a point so far against Monaco and need to take something out of this fixture to get into the knockout stages. Anderlecht will be warned abut their opponents from their games against Arsenal in the Champions League last season, where they lost at home but managed to come away with a point at the Emirates, having trailed the game 3-0 at one juncture.
Meanwhile, Tottenham have a host of injury concerns to worry about, with Harry Kane likely to be rested after picking up a knock in a deeply contested game against Liverpool last weekend. Jurgen Klopp announced his arrival by setting his side high up the pitch, but Tottenham managed to counter the Reds with their own high pressing tactics.
But, Nacer Chadli and Heung-Min Son will not be unavailable due to injuries, which leaves Mauricio Pochettino with Clinton Njie, who is yet to find his feet in the league. Spurs will play Arsenal and Chelsea next month, and results from these games could determining their position in the league this season.
What managers say
Besnik Hasi: "Compared to last season, we fortunately have more opportunities to deal with this situation. Is this the meeting last chance? I do not think so but it is undoubtedly a very important game. Losing to Qarabag complicated matters but everything is still possible. Tottenham is very strong in the middle. His players move a lot and regularly changing positions. We must."
Mauricio Pochettino: "We need to assess it [Kane's injury] because at the end of the game against Liverpool, Harry had a small problem. It was a knock, not an injury. It is possible he will start on the bench. As usual we need to manage the situation in a good way and analyse every detail. The player always wants to play. Afterwards I decide whether he will. Both Son and Chadli are out with injuries and today we have Kane and Clinton N'Jie available."
