BA sees 3-5 pct capacity cuts in winter
Posted 15 July 2008 @ 04:18 pm GMT
British Airways expects to cut capacity by three to five percent in its winter season due to the rising cost of fuel, its chief executive told reporters on Tuesday.
"We are beginning to see the impact of high energy prices and high food prices coming through," Willie Walsh said at a press conference after the airline's annual general meeting.
Walsh said there were no plans to terminate long-haul routes but said the airline could cut back on the frequency of flights. He added there could be "one or two" short-haul suspensions.
