EDF confirms board meeting this week

EDF confirmed on Monday that a board meeting will take place this week but declined to comment on the agenda.

The Sunday Express newspaper said EDF was preparing to make a sweetened offer for nuclear power generator British Energy.

EDF had made a 12 billion pound, or 765 pence a share, all-cash offer but this was rejected by some British Energy shareholders on August 1.
