Renishaw says first-quarter pretax profit up 75 pct
Posted 10 October 2008 @ 08:23 am GMT
Engineer Renishaw posted a 75 percent rise in first-quarter profit and said it was encouraged by the continuing strength of its order book, despite worldwide economic conditions.
Renishaw, which makes measurement systems for industries ranging from cars to dentistry, said on Friday it made an unaudited pretax profit of 9.8 million pounds in the three months to end-September, on revenues up 24 percent to 53 million pounds
Its performance was helped by the weakness of sterling.
