Following its commitment to launch a cyber-crusade against Israel to end its "reign of terror",Anonymous has called on its members to attack influential US-based Zionost lobby group as Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu prepares to visit Washington.

The American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) is a powerful lobbying group that advocates pro-Israel policies to Congress. Speaking at its annual conference, President Barack Obama vowed to defend Israel's security on an unprecedented scale. "When the chips are down, I have Israel's back," he said.

With a statement on its website, the Anonymous collective has relaunched its cyberwar against Jerusalem.

"AIPAC, the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, wants to lobby for more wars, more destruction, more deaths than they have already committed and, unfortunately, our president has decided to defend them for it," the statement from Anonymous said.

Declaring AIPAC as its enemy, the group announced its commitment to attack its websites in retaliation for its "crimes".

At the AIPAC conference, Obama also warned Iran about its nuclear programme and reassured those attending the conference that the US was committed to taking military action to prevent the Islamic republic from acquiring nuclear weapons.

Anonymous launched a cyber-crusade against Israel last month, when it released a video on YouTube which accuses the Israeli government of committing crimes against humanity.

"Through the use of media deception and political bribery, you have amassed the sympathies of many," a narrator says in the background of the footage.

"You claim to be democratic, yet this is far from the truth. Your only goal is to better the lives of a select few, while carelessly trampling the liberties of the masses. We see through the propaganda that you circulate through the mainstream media and lobby through the political establishment."
