Howard Stern: Simon Cowell is 'Busy Making Kids' And Never Shows up on Sets

Simon Cowell's co-judge on America's Got Talent has poked fun at the TV mogul, saying he is "too busy" making babies and doesn't focus on his work.

Radio show host Howard Stern said that Cowell was "not thrilled" about having a child, continuing: "If he was here doing his job and running things, there would be no baby.

"I was wondering why he never shows up on the set. Now I know - he's busy making kids."

Just recently, Cowell and 'shock jock' Stern were named as the highest-paid TV personalities in the world. They both reportedly earned £61m in the year to June 2013.

Cowell, who is reportedly expecting a baby with socialite Lauren Silverman, joked at a recent press conference: "I really haven't read the newspapers. Did I miss anything?"

However the veteran pop producer continued on a more serious note: "Unfortunately, I have to keep this, for the moment, private. It's just one of those things. Thank you very much anyway. There are a lot of things I will eventually clear up when the time is right.

"I really have to be sensitive here because there are a lot of people's feelings involved."

Potential legal battle

Many commentators have hit out at Cowell for having a baby with Silverman, because she is still married - to one of his long-standing friends.

Andrew Silverman has filed for an at-fault divorce in a Manhattan court, naming his wife and Cowell as the offending parties.

Meanwhile, legal expert Loni Coombs has also urged Cowell to get a DNA test.

"If he is going to take on child support, you should make sure you are the father of the child," Coombs stated.

Cowell has offered child support to the tune of £3m-a-year, which would continue until the baby reaches the legal age of adulthood in America.

According to sources, Cowell has also agreed to cover all of Mr Silverman's legal costs, which could amount to as much as £2,00,000, if he drops the adultery claim and accepts a simple no-contest divorce.
