'Delighted' Mick Jagger to Become Great Grandfather
Have you seen your great grandad, baby, standing in the shadow?
Veteran rocker Mick Jagger, who recently marked the Rolling Stones' 50th anniversary in a Hyde Park performance, is celebrating another milestone after learning he is to become a great grandfather.
Fashion designer Jade's daughter Assisi, 21, who uses her father's surname Jackson, is expecting a first child with her chef boyfriend, reports the Daily Mirror.
"She and Alex are thrilled and broke the news to their immediate families last week. Jade was a little taken aback at first, not least because it means she will be a grandmother by the age of 42."
"She's expecting some ribbing from her showbiz pals," a source told the Mirror.
Jagger, 70, has seven children by four different women, and two other grandchildren.
"Mick is delighted and has no qualms about being a great grandfather," the insider said. "He's been joking about becoming a great, great, granddad and still performing!"
His eldest child, Karis, was born after a fling with singer Marsha Hunt in 1970. She is now a mother of two.
He has Elizabeth, James, Georgia May, and Gabriel from his nine-year marriage to model Jerry Hall and a son named Lucas from an affair with Brazilian model Luciana Gimenez.
Jade is the daughter of Mick's first wife Bianca Jagger, who is now a social and human rights campaigner.
The designer's two daughters, Assisi, and Amba, 17, are from her relationship with her artist ex, Piers Jackson.
Last year she married DJ Adrian Fillary at a star-studded bash in the Cotswolds.
And showing no sign of slowing down, there are reports that Jagger is to start his own music festival in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
''Mick has put some feelers out in Brazil to put on a big show," a source told STV.
''The plans are ambitious but if he pulls it off it will be huge. The whole vibe of the event is very much 'flower power' and the same hippy values that Glastonbury prides himself on.
''The publicity drive will begin in the next six months or so but there's no doubt there will be big names on the bill.''
