Asus Zenfone 2 to be officially launched in three variants in India on 23 April, after Europe

Ending months of speculation with regard to the launch of its Zenfone 2 smartphone series in India, Taiwan-based Asus has now officially indicated that the series will be launched in India, at an event on 23 April.

Rumour mills had earlier speculated that the Asus Zenfone 2 series would be launched on 13 April; these rumours are now refuted by Asus' official statement (released via the company's official Twitter account).

The Zenfone 2 will be launched in three variants, but the company is yet to issue an official confirmation regarding the model numbers of these smartphones.

But, going by the fact that Asus launched three Zenfone 2 variants bearing model numbers ZE550ML, ZE551ML and ZE500CL, in the US and Europe, the same variants might be launched/released in India as well.

The three Asus Zenfone 2 variants include the Zenfone 2 ZE551ML which is priced at Rs 23,624 (£254, €349, $376), the Zenfone 2 ZE550ML priced at Rs 16,869 and the ZE500CL at Rs 12,127.
