Where to Watch Live
Play is scheduled to start at 3:20am GMT. Live coverage of the game is on Sky Sports 2 and Sky Sports 2 HD. Follow live text updates on ESPN Cricinfo.
Overview
Australia enter this game having humiliated the visitors by 5-0 to win the Ashes. Michael Clarke will be hoping that his side can maintain the winning momentum and continue their dominance over the visitors in the ODI series.
The hosts best player was Mitchell Johnson who was declared Man of the Series for his 37-wicket haul in the Ashes.
Australia's previous ODI series involved trips to India and England in November and September respectively last year.
On their tour to England, the 2007 Cricket World Cup winners managed to beat the hosts 2-1 in the five-match series with two games producing no result. But Clarke's side failed to replicate the result in India, losing the seven match series 3-2 as two games were abandoned due to rains.
Last Year, England's only series win in the 50-over format came against New Zealand way back in February. After which they lost to the Kiwis 2-1 in a three-match series on home soil few months later in June.
However, Alastair Cook will be hoping to wipe the slate clean and will be hoping for a bright start to the New Year. The 29-year-old will be wishing that his side can pull off a victory in the series right from the first game.
