Beyonce continues performance despite on-stage injury at Tidal concert
Songstress headlined her husband Jay Z's Tidal X concert on 15 October.
For many people, the sight of blood dripping from their torn skin is enough to warrant a trip to A&E or at the very least a dramatic outburst− not Beyoncé. The singer stunned fans when she remained calm and carried on despite suffering an injury on-stage at the Tidal X concert.
Disaster struck as the songstress finished her first song, 6 Inch, when she is believed to have caught her earring on her braid during a dance move and ripped it out of her left ear. In a clip of the incident –which occurred in Brooklyn – the mother-of-one simply sweeps her hand over her bloodied ear to confirm what she already knows. To the delight of her fans, she continues to belt out the lyrics to the song without missing a note.
Her professionalism did not go unnoticed. Within minutes social media was awash with comments from fans about the singer's work ethic. "Only Beyonce could continue to perform with a bleeding ear... Real life goals," one supporter posted on Twitter.
Another added: "Only Beyonce can check her ear, see that it's bleeding see & still put a tongue flick in there. #TIDALX1015 #ThingsIconsDo."
Her reaction shouldn't be all that surprising considering that back in 2013, the former Destiny's Child member continued her performance of Halo during her Mrs. Carter Show World Tour despite her long locks getting caught in a wind machine.
Queen B later brushed off the incident – and hopefully got cleaned up – to encourage fans to vote in the upcoming US presidential election during an impromptu speech.
"It can be easy to feel helpless and want to just block the world out. But doing nothing right now is not an option, y'all. I know it seems like things are bad, but if you think they can't get worse, just ask your grandparents," she told the crowd.
"Remember Barack Obama is our president. You made that happen. Young people made that happen. We are not helpless. The fire is still burning. Please go out and vote this November."
