Colors TV hit reality show Bigg Boss 8 is all set to premiere on 21 September and it looks like show host Salman Khan can't wait to show us what the new season looks like.

Salman was in Toronto recently for the music launch of Dr. Cabbie, a film he is co-producing, and in an interview, he talked about Bigg Boss 8 and how the show influenced him.

"I don't know what to expect out of it either. It takes a lot out of me. It also teaches me a lot, and helps me grow. It is amazing to see these guys inside," Pinkvilla quoted him as saying.

Bigg Boss 8 premiere date was made public through a new promo with Salman Khan announcing the start date in style. In the first teaser, Salman was seen getting dressed like a pilot and in the second, he was flying a paper plane, and now in the third, it seems as though he himself is the pilot, sitting in the cockpit and gearing up to fly his plane.

Five Things to Expect From Bigg Boss 8

Controversy: Ever since its inception in 2006, Bigg Boss is the most popular and controversial show in Indian television. Following the international format of Big Brother, the show is the perfect recipe of a masala show that has all the necessary ingredients, from controversies to ugly fights, romance and some daring challenges. Fans can expect to see a lot of controversy in the show's eighth season.

Theme: Every year, the reality show returns on television with a particular theme and this year's theme is aviation. Whether it is heaven vs. hell as seen in Season 7 or the Bigg Boss house vs. the poor mud house in Season 6, the makers have not ceased to surprise the audience. It will be interesting to see whether the Bigg Boss flight will fly smoothly in air or will have to crash land due to some errant passengers.

Salman Khan as Host: In its seven seasons of existence, the show has witnessed a myriad of hosts from Amitabh Bachchan, Shilpa Shetty, to Arshad Warsi, Sanjay Dutt and Salman Khan. Only Kick star Salman Khan has been consistent for the last few seasons. According to a report in Mumbai Mirror, the actor was asked to tone down his judgmental attitude towards contestants. According to reports, the actor was accused of favouritism, and that he was partial to some contestants like Tanishaa. It will be interesting to see who will be Salman's favorite this year.

Couples Only in Bigg boss 8: There are rumours that the show's eighth installment will be a couples-only season and will be all about love. According to a report in IndiaToday, there might even be a gay couple in the house. Last year's big on-screen hookups Tanishaa-Armaan Kohli and Kushal Tandon-Gauahar Khan worked well for the show and the ratings soared, which lasted almost till the very end. And this year, "only couple" theme will surely keep the audience glued to the screen.

Contestants: Bigg Boss have managed to grab eyeballs with its choice of celebrity contestants every season. From controversial figures to drama queens like Rakhi Sawant, from Wrestler Khali to adult movie star Sunny Leone, Hollywood stars to homosexuals and criminals all have lived in the luxurious Bigg Boss villa and entertained the audience.

Although the official contestants list is still under speculation, celebrities like Minissha Lamba, Shweta Salve, Karishma Tanna and Mariam Zakaria, and Sunil Grover, aka Gutthi of Comedy Nights With Kapil Fame are confirmed to be in the show.
