Watch Bloodline premiere via live stream on Netflix: Everything you need to know about the new thriller series
The new American thriller-drama series Bloodline premieres on 20 March on Netflix.
The show has been created and exec-produced by Todd Kessler, Daniel Zelman and Glenn Kessler. The series is set in Florida Keys and centres on a close-knit family of four adult siblings, whose secrets and scars are revealed when their brother returns home.
The summary of the 13-episode series reads as follows:
The return of eldest son Danny Rayburn (Ben Mendelsohn) to his Florida keys hometown for the anniversary of his parents' (Sissy Spacek and Sam Shephard) hotel causes tension and secrets to spill out amongst his family including his three siblings: John (Kyle Chandler), Kevin (Norbert Leo Butz), and Meg (Linda Cardellini).
The all-star cast includes Ben Mendelsohn (The Dark Knight Rises), Linda Cardellini (Mad Men), Sam Shepard (The Right Stuff), Sissy Spacek (Carrie), Norbert Leo Butz (Dan in Real Life), Jamie McShane (Sons of Anarchy), Jacinda Barrett (Suits) and Enrique Murciano (Without a Trace).
Early reviews by critics suggest that the new series will sure be a hit.
Hollywood Reporter states: "Chalk up another forceful punch with Bloodline, a riveting, superbly cast slow-burn family drama set between the oceanfront paradise and the murky mangrove swamps of the Florida Keys."
Another review by Variety notes, "Nothing here is especially groundbreaking. But Bloodline smartly dives into its soapy doings with multiple plots, as well as an impressive acting roster."
