Brits Awards 2015: Liam Gallagher attacks Kanye West over 'utter s**t' performance
Liam Gallagher has branded rapper Kanye West's controversial performance at the 2015 Brit Awards as "utter s**t" in a scathing attack on social media.
Like millions of fans across the globe, the former Oasis frontman tuned in to see the hip-hop star take to the stage at London's O2 and debut his new single, All Day, with the help of some of the biggest names in the UK grime scene, including BBK, Skepta and Krept and Konan.
But while many of viewers only had an issue with the live performance being constantly muted because of the explicit content, Gallagher had a bigger axe to grind.
In an epic rant on Twitter, the Wonderwall hitmaker claimed West's music had taken a serious nosedive since his first album The College Dropout, released in 2004. Gallagher even claimed the self-proclaimed king of rap would benefit from listening to Lee Mavers of The La's if he needed inspiration.
"Kanye West. Utter s**t," he said in one post before adding: "And you're a million miles from College Dropout. That's artistry."
Gallagher has since deleted his comments. Although West has yet to respond to the remarks, the Yeezus star's fans flocked to his defence.
Following an elaborate introduction from his wife Kim Kardashian West, West stormed the stage with a crowd of men similarly dressed all in black, as a giant flame-thrower intermittently lit up his post-watershed performance.
The song, which features the N-word 39 times and includes the lyrics: "Ye in the building like a hallway, n***a, Big in the game like an arcade, n***a, I jump in the whip, Audi R8, n***a, Still got the 100 with the small face, n***a."
Although it was not Gallagher's cup of tea, Swift, who shares tense history with the singer, appeared to give her seal of approval. The Black Space songstress was seen dancing seductively to the track, alongside Kim Kardashian West.
