Chelsea host Paris Saint-Germain in the second leg of the round of 16 tie of the Champions League on Wednesday, 9 March as the Blues look to progress in Europe after a disappointing campaign in the league this season. Guus Hiddink's men come into the fixture trailing the tie 2-1 but the away goal shall give them an edge when the two meet for the second time in consecutive years.
Where to watch live
Kick-off is set for 7.45pm GMT. Live coverage of the game will be on BT Sport Europe and BT Sport Europe HD.
Overview
Chelsea will come into the game knowing that this will be their biggest challenge this season, with hopes of a top-four spot in the Premier League all but gone. The Blues have made some progress since Hiddink has taken over but are unlikely to bridge a gap worth more than 10 points, with only nine games left in the season. As a result, for them to stay in Europe, they will have to win the competition again, like they did in 2012 when they finished sixth in the league.
The Blues will be without John Terry for the fixture and with Kurt Zouma out for the rest of the season, it is a massive task at hand for the London club to keep the visitors out. However, they will bank on their forwards to be clinical in front of goal, something which cost them in the reverse fixture.
Meanwhile, PSG will be banking on the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Edinson Cavani to throw caution to the winds and go for a win and confirm yet another progression into the quarter-finals. The French club beat Chelsea over two legs in 2015 but are likely to be without their two holding midfield players Blaise Matuidi and Marco Verratti, who are yet to recover from injury.
What managers say
Guus Hiddink: [On Costa] "I'm very proud of him the way he's playing and, going not over the edge, but he likes to fight in the real way of the game. That's what we like. I protect him and support him when he's doing what he has done in my period at Chelsea. He scored recently in not the worst league in the world. In the Premier League he frequently is scoring now, since December, January. Before he had this problem of not scoring, as did the team. Let's see and hope he can make it to the European level as well."
Laurent Blanc: "There are two facets to Diego Costa: the player and the man. The player I like very much, a centre-forward who can score a lot of goals, has good movement, who works hard for the team. I'm a big fan of the player. We also know the man, a man who likes contact, duels, challenges, even provocation at times. That's part of his game. We saw that last year. He's a player used to playing like that. He doesn't just do that against PSG. I'll tell my players not to respond to that. We have to keep cool in the face of provocation, even if they are Brazilians."
