China's Vivo X5 Max is Just 4.75 mm Thick: Smartphone to Replace Oppo's RS as 'World's Thinnest'
If you thought that the Oppo R5 was the thinnest smartphone in the world, then think again, as there is yet another Chinese brand smartphone called Vivo X5 that is just 4.85mm thick, thus beating the Oppo R5 in terms of offering thin outer form factors.
Now, the ultra-thin Vivo X5 Max has reportedly been approved by the Telecommunications Equipment Certifications Centre in China.
The outer thickness of Vivo X5 Max could make it the thinnest ever smartphone, once the device is officially launched and released. As of now, the Vivo X5 Max is expected to be launched in China, before rolling out to other countries of the world.
Rumoured key technical specifications of Vivo X5 Max include:
- 5.5 in capacitive touchscreen display
- Android 4.4 KitKat operating platform; out of the box
- An octa-core processor, clocked at 1.7GHz
- 2 GB RAM
- 13 MP primary camera, and a 5MP secondary camera
- 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi and microUSB connectivity
Other details of the smartphone such as the battery technicality/configuration and the price tag of the Vivo X5 Max have not surfaced at this point in time.
However, going by the above key hardware aspects, it is evident that the Vivo X5 Max will be a pure 'above-average' mid-ranger, so you can expect the pricing of the smartphone to lie on the higher side.
