Flappy Bird: 'Made in Just Two Days' and Other Amazing Facts You Didn't Know About
Some amazing facts about Flappy Bird, the latest Indie gaming hit, have been revealed by its developer.
In a recent interview with The Verge, Dong Nguyen spoke about his game and offered some fresh details on the game's making and its success.
Here are some of those revelations.
1) The game has been downloaded 50 million times.
2) It has 47,000 reviews in the App Store (as many as Gmail).
4) The game took only two days to make.
The developer also went on to add that he has no plans of updating or changing anything about the game.
"Flappy Bird has reached a state where anything added to the game will ruin it somehow, so I'd like to leave it as is," he said.
"I will think about a sequel but I'm not sure about the timeline," he added.
Nguyen highlighted the fact that the game's competitive nature is one of its key strengths.
"The reason Flappy Bird is so popular is that it happens to be something different from mobile games today, and is a really good game to compete against each other.
"People in the same classroom can play and compete easily because [Flappy Bird] is simple to learn, but you need skill to get a high score," he said.
@Kieranb8561 I could estimate 10 days from now. It has to be approved by Microsoft.
