Jordan Lukaku reveals admiration for Arsenal amid talk of Premier League transfer
KV Oostende left-back Jordan Lukaku has revealed a passion for Arsenal as rumours of a Premier League move swirl. The 21-year-old full-back, the brother of Everton striker Romelu, has reportedly caught the eye of a number of English clubs this season.
As well as Arsenal, Lukaku has been linked with Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and AC Milan. However, the Belgian appeared to suggest his preferred destination would be the Emirates Stadium.
"Do I see myself as Premier League-bound?" Lukaku was asked amid Arsenal's reported interest, according to The Set Pieces. "I don't know, but it's a league that would suit me. I have always been a fan of Arsenal, but I am mad about every Premier League club as long as the club doesn't have to fight against relegation."
Despite his admiration for Arsenal, Lukaku also suggested the Gunners need to spend more lavishly in order to win trophies. "Arsenal has to go out and spend," Lukaku said. "Arsenal has become a youth academy for other top clubs. When [Cesc] Fabregas became top, he moved to Barcelona.
"When [Robin] Van Persie became top and single-handedly guided Arsenal to a top-four finish, he moved to Manchester United. He had begged for reinforcements. Same case with Samir Nasri. He asked for a bigger salary. Arsenal have to be less stingy."
