Manchester Mystery Explosion: No Answers After Loud Bang Near Manchester United and BBC

Manchester emergency services could not find any evidence of an explosion after hundreds of residents reported hearing a "huge bang" ring out near the Salford homes of Manchester United and the BBC.
Greater Manchester Police and Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service were left scratching their heads after being inundated with reports of an explosion at Hessel Street at around 10.30pm last night (Monday 24 November).
Residents used Twitter to raise the alarm, with one saying "What the hell was that massive bang I just heard?".
Another posted an image of what he thought was smoke billowing into the night sky from an explosion.
But firefighters and police officers were unable to find any sign of an explosion or disturbance.
