Microsoft Office for Mac and Outlook 2011 get bug-fix update on OS X El Capitan
Several OS X El Capitan users have been facing incompatibility issues with Microsoft Office and email app syncing issues with Outlook 2011, following the new upgrade on OS X Yosemite. In a bid to address these concerns, Microsoft has just rolled out a new bug-fix update to Apple's newest desktop operating system.
The update's main objective is to patch up widespread syncing issues, which prevented users from accessing their email from Outlook and forced the app to hang indefinitely while trying to reach the servers. Microsoft had earlier confirmed that it was working on a probable fix for Outlook 2011 syncing issues and now the promise has come true with the release of build 14.5.6 bug-fix update on OS X El Capitan.
The update gains precedence over the fact that Microsoft had earlier proposed that affected users downgrade back to OS X Yosemite as a workaround for the nagging sync problems with Outlook 2011. However, it is reported that several Office 2016 users are still facing random app crashes after installing the new update, while some apps fail to launch due to coding issues that may be fixed in future updates.
Interested users who are facing issues with Microsoft Office for Mac 2011 or Outlook 2011 may go ahead and download the latest bug-fix update. One can also check out the prerequisites for installing this update on Microsoft's support website.
