Power season 3 premiere date and trailer: Ghost wants to leave crime world and 50 Cent teases Kanan's return

Power season 3 is still two months away from its premiere and fans are curious to know the whereabouts of Kanan. In the climax scene of season 2 finale episode titled Ghost is Dead, fans presumed Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson's character to be dead until police investigation revealed that somebody had escaped the building fire.

On 25 May, Starz released a trailer via EW and announced 17 July (Sunday) as the premiere date of its super hit crime drama. The 10-episode series will focus on the new journey of James "Ghost" St. Patrick (Omari Hardwick) as he wants to leave behind the trail of his crimes and focus on his club.

"There's representation of this lifestyle in every cop film that you've seen. But it's the guy that jumps the gate and ends up in jail, not the one who finds success," Jackson told the website while explaining how Ghost's past may haunt his future. "When you show that side of it, it [speaks] to the rebellious streak in all of us."

"This club, this life — this is who I am now," he says in the newly-released promo. But is it possible for the drug dealer-turned-nightclub owner to get away from his past that is eager to take revenge.

"Ghost has no idea how to just be James, and how to let go of his Ghost persona entirely. He doesn't know how to go straight. The theme of the season is 'Be careful what you wish for.' But is there something within Ghost that keeps him from being that person he wants to be?" show creator Courtney Kemp put forth, predicting a risky journey for James.

The cliffhanger finale raised the question "Where is Kanan" and that even if he escaped the fire, will he be able to survive the stab wounds. But it appears 50 Cent has the answer about his character's future.

During an interview with Vanity Fare, the American rapper and actor was asked about Kanan's fate. But instead of giving a straight answer, he said: "I come back."

If the powerful drug lord comes back, he will definitely want the Ghost to be dead and it will be interesting to see whether he will again drag James to the swamp of crime or instead just end his life.
