The iPhone's Siri assistant tells its owner they have no friends when asked to divide zero by zero Reuters

It seems the entire internet and its dog is asking Siri to divide zero by zero, after it was found the personal assistant living inside your iPhone is not too happy about being asked a question with no answer.

Although Siri has a couple of witty answers up his sleeve, it is one about the Cookie Monster and having no friends that has spread like wildfire across Twitter. Asking Siri: "What is zero divided by zero?" returns the following:

"Imagine that you have zero cookies and you split them evenly among zero friends. How many cookies does each person get? See? It doesn't make sense. And Cookie Monster is sad that there are no cookies, and you are sad that you have no friends."

The craze was kicked off by Breaking Bad actor Aaron Paul, and just a couple of hours later everyone is at it, including brands like Red Bull, which is jumping on the bandwagon to promote its Total Zero energy drink.

Siri is currently the second-highest Twitter trending topic in the world and fifth in the UK, where it sits behind today's (30 June) leap second and the current heatwave spreading across the country. The virtual personal assistant also answers the question with "indeterminate" and has a variety of answers when asked to divide different numbers by zero.
