True Blood Season 7: Will 'Jaw-Dropping' Death in Premiere Episode Top Game of Thrones Oberyn Scene?
The True Blood Season 7 premiere is just a little more than a week away and already rumours of it being the most violent and goriest season ever have started circulating.
True Blood Season 7 potential spoilers and Game of Thrones Season 4 spoilers follow below.
HBO shows are notorious for pushing the envelope when it comes to explicit content – and the network is planning to knock things up a notch with a gruesome death scene in the seventh and final season of True Blood.
True Blood Season 7's premiere episode – which is being directed by series star Stephen Moyer – will focus on the battle between Bon Temps and H-Vamps. According to a Moviepilot report, a major character will be brutally killed off during this episode.
"...one character's fate is so jaw-dropping that you'll spend the rest of the episode wondering if what you just watched was a dream," states the report.
True Blood's final season has also been dubbed "insane" by actor Sam Trammell. Talking about the brutal deaths on the show, the actor, who plays Sam Merlotte, also said:
"I think that in the past, people have just died and there's a ton of brutal deaths and they haven't really been respected. But I think with Terry's death last year we started to really respect what death is, and Brian Buckner who is running the show this year wanted to consolidate the stories and bring it back to the main cast."
Recently, the makers of another HBO show – Game of Thrones – shocked viewers by featuring an extremely gory killing of popular character Oberyn Martell. Wonder if makers are looking to top that with the True Blood rumoured death scene?
True Blood Season 7 premieres on 22 June 2014.
