Vixen premiere: The Flash and Arrow stars set to appear in CW's animated series
The latest superhero animated series by DC Comics titled Vixen will premiere on 25 August on The CW.
After Arrow and The Flash, Vixen will be the third superhero to join The CW lineup. The show will debut on CW Seed.
It is based on the DC Comics character Mari McCabe aka Vixen, a superhero crime-fighter with the power to mimic the abilities of any animal that has ever lived on Earth. It is set in the same fictional universe as that of Arrow, The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow.
According to The CW, "Originally from Africa, Mari McCabe's parents were killed by local greed, corruption, and wanton violence. But the orphaned Mari refuses to succumb to the terrors surrounding her."
Inheriting her family's Tantu Totem, Mari then gets access to the powers of animals – anything from the super-strength of a gorilla to the speed of a cheetah, as she fights valiantly to protect the world from threats like those that claimed her family.
Grant Gustin and Carlos Valdes will reprise their roles as the voice of Barry Allen and Cisco Ramon. Stephen Amell and Emily Bett Rickards will also reprise their roles as voice artists for Oliver Queen and Felicity Smoak, respectively.
In the trailer of Vixen, Mari can be seen in conversation with Oliver Queen and Barry Allen. The trailer also features another Flash alum, as Carlos Valdes lends his voice to Cisco who gives McCabe her superhero name.
