Watch Mr Robot episode 10 live stream online: Producer teases season 2 storyline

Mr Robot season 1 finale - episode 10 airs this Wednesday after being pushed from its original air date - 26 August. Due to the tragic Virginia shooting last week, Mr Robot's season finale was delayed by a week and will now air on 2 September.

In a statement posted on their website, USA Network stated: "The previously filmed season finale of Mr Robot contains a graphic scene similar in nature to the tragic events in Virginia. Out of respect to the victims, their families and colleagues, and our viewers, we are postponing tonight's episode. Our thoughts go out to all those affected during this difficult time."

Official synopsis for the upcoming episode teases that Mr Robot (Christian Slater) and Tyrell (Martin Wallström) will go missing in the season 1 finale. "In addition, One of Elliot's (Rami Malek) past hacks comes back to haunt him."

So, what can fans expect from the cyberpunk show's season ender? Mstarz speculates that Angela, Elliot, and Mr Robot are in danger of being betrayed by the murderous Tyrell Wellick. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the show's creator Sam Esmail shed some light on this by revealing that Tyrell has a tendency to switch sides.

"The best way I can describe it without judging him as a character is that he's incredibly damaged. The fact that he takes the moniker of the quote-unquote "bad guy" is not something I feel comfortable about either way - as much as I wouldn't even put the moniker of "good guy" on Elliot. Tyrell's obviously all about self-preservation and I guess operating more under a selfish desire to get ahead, whereas Elliot on the flipside is seemingly altruistic and operating more on the benefit of other people," said Esmail.

Talking about Tyrell's mysterious wife Joanna, Esmail teased that she will play an important role in season 2. "In the finale, as things sort of collide, it's going to be less about Tyrell and Joanna's relationship and more about Tyrell and Elliot. Next season is when we see the rise of Joanna in a much more dynamic way," he revealed.

The showrunner also explained that season 1 of Mr Robot has been a "build up" of things to come and season 2 will delve deeper into Elliot's character and storyline. Mr Robot season 1 finale titled 'eps1.9zer0-daY.avi' airs this Wednesday, 2 September at 10pm ET on USA Network.
