WWE SmackDown results: AJ Styles and Jinder Mahal clash ahead of their big fights at Backlash 2017

The latest episode of WWE SmackDown Live was aired from the SNHU Arena in Manchester, New Hampshire on 16 May. In the main card, Jinder Mahal took on AJ Styles, while in another fight, Baron Corbin and Randy Orton squared off.

The show kicked off with US champion Kevin Owen. He introduced the audience to the latest episode of his Highlight Reels and said he would beat AJ Styles at Backlash 2017.

The Phenomenal One entered and said he would beat KO for the US Championship.

Jinder Mahal and his associates, the Singh Brothers, entered the ring. The Maharaja asked Styles what the latter was doing as the former was supposed to be the guest on Owens' Highlight Reels. Mahal then talked about how he would destroy Randy Orton when they face off for the WWE Championship this Sunday. Styles then told Mahal that the latter should focus on his fight with the former for tonight.

Owens added that it was going to be a rough week for Styles as he would first lose to Mahal and then to him at Backlash. Styles entered the ring to confront Owens, but the latter bailed.

Breezango won with a Falcon Arrow from Fandango on Epico Colon.

Carmella vs Naomi

Carmella won with a schoolboy pin.

Randy Orton won with the RKO.
