Fulham sinkhole: Woman rushed to hospital after pavement gives way
A woman was rushed to hospital after falling down a sinkhole in Fulham.
People heard screaming as the pavement gave way in North End Road around 8.50am this morning (23 April).
The casualty, believed to be in her 40s, was reportedly "left shaken" and taken to hospital. The eight-foot deep hole has since been cordoned off.
Builder Paul Smith, 28, was on his way to work when he witnessed the horror accident.
He said: "Someone had fallen through - just like a trapdoor. It's crazy. There is a huge hole in the floor and someone has fallen through the pavement.
"I was just walking to work and I saw it. It's shocking. There was lots of members of the public surrounding it."
A London Ambulance Service spokesman said: "We've cared for a woman who was shaken after falling through a hole in the pavement in Fuham. We've taken her to hospital."
