Tetra Pak heir appears in court today
Hans Rausing the heir to the Swedish Tetra Pak packaging fortune arrived at a west London court to respond to a charge of preventing the "lawful and decent" burial of his 48-year-old wife Eva Rausing.
He arrived in a silver people carrier. At court he spoke only to plead guilty. He was arrested driving erratically on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Police officers then went to his upmarket home where they made the grim discovery of his wife's decomposing body.
The couple were known chronic drug addicts although a cause of death for Eva Rausing has still not been established.
