Overview

The Titans started the tournament with a loss to league leaders Chennai Super Kings but came back with consecutive victories over Brisbane Heat and Sunrisers Hyderabad. The South African franchise are currently second in the group with eight points and are favourites to join Chennai in the Knockout stages. A win here will knock Trinidad out of the reckoning and allow the Titans to qualify.

Their last game ended in an eight wicket win over the Sunrisers, having restricted the IPL club to a score of 145 while batting first. David Wiese was the pick of the bowlers for the Titans, taking three wickets while conceding only 17 runs, at an economy rate of four. Jacques Rudolph and Henry Davids lead the chase for the Titans and surpassed the score with more than 21 balls to go. This is the first time that the South African outfit have performed in both facets of the field and captain AB de Villiers will be confident of leading his team into the knockouts.

Trinidad come into the game after a long lay-off, having played their last game on 24 September and will have to brush off their initial rustiness if they have to keep their fates alive in the tournament. A win here will keep them with a fighting chance in the competition, while a loss would spell curtains for the side form the Caribbean. Dinesh Ramdin's side started the series well with a win over Brisbane Heat but fell into the jaws of defeat against Hyderabad in their second game.

Ramdin will be looking at his bowlers to give a decent performance, with huge expectation on Sunil Narine to deliver on all cylinders. The Kolkata Knight Riders star picked up four wickets while conceding only nine runs in their last game and a similar performance from the other bowlers will make them favourites to win the contest.
