It's Dangerously Cheap: US Customers Offered Discount on Pizza If Carrying Gun
A pizza parlour in Virginia has raised eyebrows after offering discount to customers if they are carrying a firearm.
All Around Pizzas in Virginia Beach is giving pizza-lovers a 15% discount on takeaways if they are carrying a gun or present a concealed weapon license.
The terrifying new marketing strategy has worked so well so far that the restaurant's owner, Jay Laze is considering extending the offer.
He says that within days of its launch 80% of customers have taken advantage of the deal, with one customer even bringing an AK-47t into the shop.
"It's been awesome, it might be permanent if people like it that much," he told the Virginia Pilot newspaper.
Laze, who is a gun carrier, says he got the idea from an ice-cream shop in Utah that was offering a dollar off purchases for gun carriers.
He insists that bizarre offer shows his support for the right to bear arms, which is currently being assessed by US president Barack Obama following the Sandy Hook massacre in December.
"I've always been a supporter of the right to carry," Laze explained. "I want to show them they really aren't representing the people or the constitution they are sworn in under."
