63 soldiers and Military band members killed in Yemen
A uniformed man blew himself up in the midst of a military parade rehearsal attended by senior officials in the Yemeni capital Sanaa killing at least 63 people and wounding more than 60, many seriously.
This footage shows the moment that the loud explosion went off and the hundreds of soldiers and military band members run in all directions. Sirens and vehicles move into shot and you can see as the smoke clears a little, many of the injured, falling and lying on the parade ground. The camera them moves closer and a lot of the injured are by the rails. The scene is of complete chaos and mayhem as Taxi's and ambulances ferry the injured to hospitals. The parade was scheduled for Tuesday to mark Yemen's national day, which commemorates the unification of north and south Yemen. The Yemen President Abd-Rabbu Hadi was due to attend.
The impoverished state has seen a spate of deadly attacks since Hadi replaced Saleh in February saying he would extinguish an Islamic insurgency. However this attack coincided with a U.S. backed Yemeni army offensive against al Qaeda-linked militants in the south of the country, where they control several towns and are recognised as a significant threat.
