Every performer dreads experiencing a wardrobe malfunction on stage but unfortunately for these pop stars, the unthinkable happened. US rocker Lenny Kravitz gave his audience more than an eyeful when his leather trousers split to expose his penis on stage but he is not the first and he certainly will not be the last.

1. Janet Jackson's super boob at the Super Bowl

Widely regarded as the ultimate "nipplegate", Jackson, 49, was performing at the Super Bowl in 2004 when a very young Justin Timberlake accidentally ripped off part of the singer's corset, exposing her breast. TV network CBS, which aired the live sports event, was initially fined $550,000 but the ruling was overturned in 2011.

The Starships rapper is no stranger to a scandal but even she surpassed herself on GMA in 2011. Hip hop's hottest female rapper was performing when her crop top slipped down to bare her breast. The network said there was a time delay in the broadcast but the photos were already out.

3. Lady Gaga pulls a Lenny Kravitz

There seems to be a pattern with leather trousers, singers and the stage. The Poker Face singer was performing in Vancouver in 2013 when she bent over slightly and split her pants, putting her bare bum on full display for the audience. It was supposed to be an innocent performance for coming-of-age teens but the Australian rapper could not help but show off her twerking skills. The 25-year-old was in the middle of Booty when she split her crotch, giving her young audience more than they bargained for.

7. Bonus: Breakfast TV queen Judy Finnigan is left red-faced

When Richard and Judy accepted their award at the National TV Awards in 2000, Judy got a little too excited and accidentally exposed her bra after her coat popped open.
