The next iteration of the popular Zenfone smartphone series will offer buyers the fingerprint sensor functionality, according to a GforGames report, that quotes Jerry Shin, CEO of Asustek, and China Times.

Besides, the next iteration in the Asus Zenfone series is expected to be the advanced Zenfone 3 range of handsets.

Currently, Asus has lined up its Zenfone 2 smartphone series for launch in major countries of the world such as India. These devices were very recently unveiled in Europe and are available for purchase in France.

The GforGames report, quoting China Times, hints at Asus incorporating the fingerprint recognition sensor in an updated model of the currently existing Zenfone 2 series and launching the smartphone during Q3-Q4 2015.

The Asus Zenfone 3 will apparently get a 2016 release. However, other aspects of the purported Zenfone 3 range of smartphones are yet to surface at this point in time.

Asus currently has the Zenfone 2 which is its newest offering. The USP of this smartphone series is that a majority of member handsets come with 4GB RAM and incorporate 64-bit processors.
