No 1 for Amy Winehouse as 'Back to Black' Knocks Adele’s '21' off Top Spot Again
Back To Black, Winehouse's second album, has returned to number one knocking Adele's 21 into second place with Beyoncé's 4 at number three.
The 2006 album which won five awards at the 50th Annual Grammy Awards ceremony has seen a surge in popularity after the singer's demise on July 23.
"Back To Black" gave Winehouse hits like "You Know I'm No Good" and "Rehab" as well as the title track.
Also, Winehouse's debut album Frank - which previously peaked at number 13 - charts at number five. Making a double collection of Winehouse's two albums came in at number 10.
HMV's Gennaro Castaldo told the BBC 'In terms of the album sales, there was a real surge last weekend, both through downloads and people buying the CD.
Winehouse also dominated the UK singles chart with "Rehab" at 8, "Tears Dry On Their Own" at 25, "Love Is A Losing Game" at number 33 and "You Know I'm No Good" at 37.
A private funeral and ceremony was held for the singer last Tuesday. The cause of death has been listed as "unexplained," pending toxicology results. Although many believe that drugs and alcohol were contributing factors in the singer's death.
