Overview
Seppi failed to contribute to Italy's progress into the quarterfinal of the Davis Cup after losing the first rubber against Argentina's Carlos Berlocq in the first round. Although Seppi claimed the first set, 6-4, he lost the subsequent sets, 0-6, 2-6, 1-6 to lose the first rubber.
However, the loss did not affect Italy's progress as his compatriots won the following three rubbers to eliminate Argentina.
Meanwhile, Murray registered two victories out of three in to help Great Britain defeat United States of America in the previous round.
The Scot overcame his opponent Donald Young in the first rubber in straight sets, 6-1, 6-2, 6-3 on 31 January.
However on 2 February, he needed four sets against Sam Querrey, 7-6 (5), (3)6-7, 6-1, 6-3, to send USA packing out of the competition.
The British number one was hit with a stomach bug earlier this week, but has managed to recover in time to face Seppi.
Murray will be hoping to secure Team GB's place in the semi-final and will be hoping for much of the same from his teammates who will be involved in other rubbers.
Head-to-Head
Murray holds a 5-1 lead over Seppi in overall meetings and has won the last five matches between the pair.
