Overview
World number two Andy Murray will look to shake off his poor form as he takes on world number 95 Pierre-Hugues Herbert at the Monte Carlo Masters 2016. A semi-finalist in 2009 and 2011, Murray is playing in Monte Carlo for the first time since 2013.
The Scotsman is yet to win the event but that won't come as a surprise considering that he won his first title on clay only last year. This year has not been a very good one for the 28-year-old and he will be looking to ensure that he gets into form for the tougher matches to follow.
His opponent Herbert has been talked about as a bright prospect but has failed to deliver when required. The Frenchman has looked much more comfortable in the doubles format, winning the recently concluded Indian Wells event with Nicolas Mahut.
He has to be on top of his game if he has to shock Murray, something which looks very unlikely.
