Apple releases iTunes 12.2.1 with fixes for iTunes Match and Beats 1 issues
Apple has just released an iTunes 12.2.1 bug-fix update that addresses issues concerning iTunes Match and Beats 1 in iTunes 12.2 that was rolled out a couple of weeks ago.
The release of iTunes 12.2 marked the debut of Apple Music, along with support for new features such as Beats 1 (Apple's free 24/7 global internet radio broadcasting in more than 100 countries) and Connect.
The addition of new features into iTunes 12.2 also introduced a handful of inherent bugs, wherein some users complained that their iTunes Match music libraries were being deleted unexpectedly, while some iTunes Match subscribers were unable to sign up for the Apple Music service altogether.
Here is a brief changelog of the fixes incorporated into the latest build of iTunes:
- Fixes an issue for iTunes Match where iTunes incorrectly changed some songs from Matched to Apple Music.
- Provides a way to correct a library problem affecting former iTunes Match subscribers.
- Includes minor bug fixes and improvements for Beats 1.
Interested users can go ahead and install the update from Mac App Store, using the Updates tab.
Alternatively, you can launch iTunes on Mac or Windows PC and choose 'Check for Updates' option in iTunes (Mac) or Help menu in Windows.
