Arsenal transfer news: Gunners urged to sign Romelu Lukaku and Antoine Griezmann

- Ray Parlour worries Arsenal lack firepower going into the new Premier League season.
- Ex-Gunner implores Arsene Wenger to splash the cash this summer.
Ray Parlour has urged his former club Arsenal to try to sign Romelu Lukaku and Antoine Griezmann. The ex-Gunners midfielder thinks the Premier League giants need to sign a big-name forward in order to make a title challenge next season.
Arsenal have not won the Premier League since 2004 – but Parlour thinks they could end their drought by splashing the cash on the Everton forward or Griezmann, who has starred for France at Euro 2016. Parlour believes Arsenal need more firepower upfront, to supplement the likes of Mesut Özil and Alexis Sanchez.
"Romelu Lukaku's been mentioned," the Arsenal legend told Sky Sports. "We'd love to see Antoine Griezmann at Arsenal. That's the sort of quality they need.
"With Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil around they will always create chances. Olivier Giroud has done well. He's a good player but they need someone of the calibre of a Sergio Aguero or a Luis Suarez.
"They missed out on Suarez a few years ago. He would have been perfect for them and could have helped them go on to win the league. If they can get someone of that ilk then they could go on to challenge for the title next season."
Parlour said that if Arsenal were able to sign a player like Lukaku or Griezmann in the summer transfer window, they would put themselves in contention to win the Premier League. He did, however, urge Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger to make reinforcements elsewhere in his squad.
"It's not rocket science in terms of who they need. A striker needs to come in but Arsenal probably need three more players to come in and reinforce the spine of the team. If they can do that they can go on and win the title," said Parlour, who played for Arsenal under Wenger.
