Australian Open 2012 Men’s Singles Final: Djokovic Clashes with Nadal [SLIDESHOW]
About 15,000 people have gathered on January 29 at Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne to watch the clash of titans - Novak Djokovic, World No.1, Vs. Rafael Nadal, World No.2.
The 24-year-old Serb national with 28 career titles would be defending his title as he plays the Spaniard.
Earlier he had won the championship in 2008.
Djokovic is a big-hitting baseliner and excellent forehand.
The 25-year-old Nadal, known for power and speed, has won 46 career titles. Nadal won the final at Melbourne in 2009.
Although the Rafael-Roger Federer rivalry is much talked about, it is Djokovic who dislodged Nadal from the No.1 rank by his consistently good performance last year.
The two champions have met head-to-head 29 times with Nadal performing better with 19 wins. But Djokovic, other than Federer, is the only player to have defeated Nadal twice in more than one Grand Slam.
Djokovic Vs Nadal (Latest results): 5-7, 6-4, 6-2, 6-6. The Australian Open Webpage has the latest updates of the ongoing match.
