Barack Obama joins John Boehner at the movies in hilarious spoof video
At the annual White House Correspondents' Dinner in Washington on 30 April, US President Barack Obama poked fun at himself during a spoof about his retirement. At the beginning of a pre-produced video, Obama languishes in boredom with US Vice President Joe Biden, discussing what he should do when he leaves the White House.
Biden suggests volunteering for a sports team so Obama phones the Washington Wizards, but doesn't get far in his attempt to find a post-presidency purpose. He then attempts to obtain a DC driver's license, presenting an authentic birth certificate – cue much hilarity. And, finally, Obama turns to the 53rd Speaker of the United States House of Representatives, John Boehner, for advice.
Boehner joins him in the White House movie theatre and attempts to shine a positive light on retirement. The video closes with the two walking the White House halls, red wine in Boehner's hand, seemingly embracing the future together.
