Belfast police HQ alert: Army experts rule 'suspect package' a hoax week after letter bomb scare
Belfast army bomb disposal experts have ruled a suspicious package delivered to police headquarters in the Northern Ireland capital was a hoax.
The package was delivered to the Knox Road premises today (14 January) sparking fears it could have posed a threat.
But army experts ruled it "nothing untoward", reported the Belfast Telegraph.
Chief Superintendent Nigel Grimshaw confirmed that the police HQ was not evacuated and remained open.
The alert came one week after experts defused a letter bomb addressed to the chief constable.
