The Lacy family also has longstanding ties to Crested Butte's ranching and horse community. The family has owned the Crested Butte Ranch for five generations, with the property associated with breeding, raising, training and showing cutting horses.

Lacy is also the brother of Rachael Lacy, a friend of Hadid. That family connection provides a known link between Hadid and Lacy, but does not establish a romantic relationship.
