Oscar-nominated actress June Squibb will play Sheldon's maternal grandmother in the episode. Amy, Leonard, Penny and the rest of the gang will meet her, and going by the synopsis, Meemaw and Amy will not hit it off.
A new promo shows Meemaw asking Penny about her job. Penny says, "I am a pharmaceutical sales rep." Meemaw replies, "It's so wonderful that you modern gals can have it all. A husband and a full time career." Amy cuts her short and says, "I have a relationship and a full time career too."
However, Sheldon's grandmother is not impressed and replies, "That doesn't bode well." To which Amy asks, "Why not? You just said that it's okay for her to work!" She clarifies, "Leonard doesn't need as much tending to as Sheldon does, as Moonpie explained Leonard's work is more of a hobby."
At that, Amy points out that she understands she is protective of her grandson, but adds, "He is an adult now. Maybe I understand what he needs better than you do." June Squibb then says, "I appreciate your honesty dear. Here is some more honesty; I don't like you very much."
"Maybe I don't like you either," says Amy. A shocked Sheldon says, "You have to like each other, we have a 4.40 reservation at Apple Bees."
It does look like Sheldon will be torn between his girlfriend Amy and Meemaw in the episode.
