A Birmingham man and woman have been arrested on suspicion of murdering a five-month-old baby girl. A 25-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman were arrested at a home in Perry Barr, north Birmingham, and are helping police with their inquiries.
West Midlands Police officers were called to the address just before 1am on the morning of 1 April following reports the baby was having breathing difficulties. The child was taken to hospital where she died later that day.
The death is being treated as suspicious and a post mortem will take place on 2 April to establish the exact cause of death.
