Boxing Day Sales: Argos to cut prices on wide range of tech
Following many retailers this year, Argos has kicked off its end-of-year sales early, with up to 60% off toys, games and much more.
Although we expect more from the retailer on Boxing Day itself (last year 60% was knocked off a huge range of goods), Argos has got the ball rolling early with deductions across its personal care section - including shavers, hair dryers and electric toothbrushes - plus 60% off selected coffee machines and the same off toys and games.
Many of these offers end on Christmas Eve, and we expect them to be replaced immediately by discounts to run across Christmas Day and Boxing Day.
There is also an ongoing offer at Argos whereby spending £50 gets you a £5 for your next purchase, and spending £100 gets you a £10 voucher.
It's an annual tradition to say the sales have started earlier than ever, but with Black Friday and Cyber Monday raking in hundreds of millions of pound each, it feels like Britain has been hunting out bargains for an entire month - and on Christmas Day Brits are expected to spend more than £440,000 per minute online.
Other retailers expected to offer savings on Boxing Day include Amazon (which actually starts on Christmas Eve), John Lewis, PC World, Tesco, Very and Next, which saw shoppers start queuing on Christmas Day to be first through the doors on the 26th.
