Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie 'getting back together'? Actress is still 'in love' with her ex – report
Actress is allegedly stalling legal procedures after Pitt came clean about his "boozing".
It is close to a year since Hollywood's once-golden couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie shocked the world with their divorce announcement. Despite parting ways, the former couple did not finalise their legal separation, and now a new report claims that there are chances that the two might "get back together".
The Maleficent star filed for divorce in September 2016 and amid the much-publicised split, the actress spent months in different rentals with her brood of six.
Ultimately, the A-lister family settled for a six-bedroom estate close to Pitt's residence in Los Angeles, which Jolie later described as a "a big jump forward for us." "We're all trying our best to heal our family," she told Vanity Fair.
If rumours are to be believed, Pitt and Jolie might be headed towards reconciliation after all, as the mother-of-six allegedly dropped hints in her inner circle.
"The divorce is off," an alleged source was quoted as saying by Us Weekly. "They haven't done anything to move it forward in several months and no one thinks they are ever going to."
The unverified report went on claim that the 42-year-old actress "is still so in love with" Pitt. Apparently, the reason behind a possible reconciliation is suggested to be Pitt owning up to his struggles with alcoholism in a recent interview with GQ.
Not only did the War Machine star confess about "boozing" in the May issue of the magazine, but also opened up about some other shortcomings. "I grew up with a father-knows-best/war mentality — the father is all-powerful, superstrong — instead of really knowing the man and his own self-doubt and struggles," Pitt said.
He added, "And it's hit me smack in the face with our divorce: I gotta be more. I gotta be more for them. I have to show them. And I haven't been great at it."
And his commitment to self-improvement has warmed Jolie, as per the Us Weekly source. As it turns out, the actress had allegedly confessed to her friends about taking Pitt back "if he showed he was committed to raising a family."
"Everyone thinks they are going to get back together," the magazine source said, adding, "It wouldn't be surprising if they announced that they're calling it off and trying to work things out."
These claims have not been independently verified by IBTimes UK and we have reached out to a representative of the actress for a response.
Meanwhile, another report claimed that "nothing significant has changed in their relationship". A source told ET Online, "There's a pause in the [divorce] process because they both made children the priority."
