Brad Pitt 'frustrated' as son Maddox is having a 'rough time' with him after Angelina Jolie split

Brad Pitt is "frustrated" at not being able to be at Maddox's side as the 15-year-old is facing a "hard time understanding everything" following the split of his parents. The development comes at a time when multiple reports have claimed that Angelina Jolie will continue to have sole custody of their children with Brad Pitt getting "therapeutic visits" in a joint agreement reached by the former couple.

According to HollywoodLife, the 52-year-old actor and Maddox are having a tough time ever since the Original Sin actress filed for divorce on 19 September, citing irreconcilable differences.

"The divorce has been difficult for all the children but Maddox is having a particularly rough time with his father Brad [Pitt]," a source told the celebrity gossip website. "Maddox is angry and having a hard time understanding everything that is happening and why," the source added.

"He [Brad Pitt] is frustrated that he cannot be present more to help Maddox deal with his emotions, feelings and anger," the source said. "The whole situation is difficult for the entire family. This is just devastating."

Previously, a US Weekly report had claimed that the Maddox had refused to meet Pitt during their first reunion, which was conducted in the presence of Department of Children and Family Services personnel. At the time of the split, multiple reports claimed that Pitt had allegedly attacked Maddox on a private jet, following which a child abuse probe was launched by the DCFS. The investigation has reportedly been expanded to the entire family.

However, a former security advisor of the ex-couple previously told The Sun that Pitt "would never raise his hands" on his six children - Maddox, 15, Pax, 12, Zahara, 11, Shiloh, 10, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 8.

"Brad would never raise his hands to those kids. One, he's not that type of person and two, Angelina would beat him to death. She doesn't f*** around," former US soldier Kris Herzog had said.

A source previously told HollywoodLife: "Brad's the most loving and caring father who is fully invested and not any sort of threat. This will get resolved and he will be cleared but this is still horrendous for him."

Jolie and Pitt started dating after meeting on the sets of their 2005 film Mr & Mrs Smith. They married in 2014.
