Brie Larson gets engaged to Phase rocker Alex Greenwald

As if winning an Oscar for best actress was not enough to make Brie Larson's year, the actress' representative told People magazine that she is now engaged. The Room actress and her long-time boyfriend Phase rocker (and former Phantom Planet front-man) Alex Greenwald will be hearing wedding bells in the near future.

Larson, 26, and her 36-year-old fiancé have been dating for a while and were spotted together at various award functions this year. She even expressed her love for her boyfriend during her Academy Awards acceptance speech and told Entertainment Tonight, "He's the other half of the equation – how can you explain support? I mean, it goes beyond anything. He's just my person, he's my best friend."

We are still waiting for the details of the proposal but Vanity Fair reported a source as saying the musician put a ring on it while on a trip to Tokyo with Larson. Her Room co-star Jacob Tremblay was also with them in Japan and we're wondering if he will be the ring bearer for the wedding.

Rumours of the engagement kicked off when the actress hosted Saturday Night Live on 7 May during which time she was spotted wearing a diamond ring.

Planning a wedding is going to be quite a challenge for Larson who has a lot on her plate already, with roles in Basmati Blues, The Glass Castle, and Kong: Skull Island.
