Two explosions rocked Brussels' Zaventem Airport on Tuesday morning, with several people reported killed. All flights scheduled to arrive at or depart from the airport have been cancelled with the airport not expected to reopen until Wednesday. Planes that were preparing to land have reportedly been circling or have been diverted to nearby airports.
RyanAir issued a statement saying that their flights to Brussels had either been cancelled or diverted: "Brussels Zaventem Airport is currently closed and is expected to remain closed for some time. Our Brussels flights to Alicante, Barcelona and Dublin have been cancelled and two flights have diverted to Brussels Charleroi." Frankfurt Airport is also preparing to take a number of the diverted flights.
British Airways tweeted saying two flights from Heathrow - BA388 and BA392 - had been cancelled and an earlier flight, BA389, had safely taken off.
Train stations in and around Brussels have been closed. The Brussels transport authority have said that all bus, tram and metro services have been shut down in the city.
People are being told not to go to the airport which has been evacuated. Rail services to the area have also been halted . Paris's Gare Du Nord, which has train services to Brussels, was temporarily cordoned off. Live updates can be found here .
