Kristen Stewart and her rumoured former girlfriend Alicia Cargile were pictured all smiles and holding hands on the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival for the special screening of American Honey on 15 May. The Twilight star, had only a few weeks ago split with ex-flame SoKo (Stephanie Sokolinski) after a few months of dating.

The French actress/singer is also in Cannes to promote her upcoming movie The Dancer. She was spotted at the Chanel Party, which was also attended by Stewart and Cargile. Stewart and Cargile were reported to be romantically linked last year but the two have never officially confirmed nor denied their relationship.

In March, SoKo and Stewart had unofficially confirmed their relationship after they were spotted kissing and holding hands while walking through the streets of Paris. Later in the month, SoKo confirmed she was dating Stewart when she revealed to W magazine that she was "in love" and "in a relationship".

"I'm very, very, very in love and very happy in a relationship," she told the magazine.

However, after Soko's interview with the magazine rumours began doing the rounds that the two had parted ways. Moreover, the 26-year-old actress attended the Met Gala alone on 2 May.

Stewart had previously told Variety that she was not open to talking about her relationships and her sexual preference to the media.

"When I was dating a guy, I would never talk about my relationships to anyone," she said. "I feel the same way now. Me not defining it right now is the whole basis of what I'm about. If you don't get it, I don't have time for you."
