Overview

Shrewsbury Town come into the game after sealing their fourth consecutive victory as they defeated Portsmouth 2-1 in the League Two tie at home on Saturday. Jed Wallace's third minute own goal gave the visitors an early lead.

However, Australian James Wesolowski equalised ten minutes later before Connor Goldson's second half goal helped Micky Melon's side register yet another victory. In the third round of the Capital One Cup, the Shrews defeated Norwich City 1-0 at New Meadow last month.

The hosts will be looking for an upset when they take on the Premier League leaders on Tuesday evening.

Meanwhile, Chelsea enter the Capital One Cup fixtures after their last tie on Sunday ended in a 1-1 draw against Manchester United at Old Trafford. Didier Drogba's brilliant header gave the much needed lead for Jose Mourinho's side.

United managed to avoid defeat as stoppage time strike from Robin van Persie helped the Red Devils take a point from the match. Chelsea are still unbeaten in all competitions this season and the former Real Madrid manager would be hoping to continue the same when his side face Shrewsbury Town in the Capital One Cup tie.

What Managers Say

Micky Mellon: "We aren't here to clap people on to the pitch. We're going to try and knock them out. We know the task is massive but we want to reach the quarter-finals. Of course, it's ridiculous how much bigger their chance is. But while we're still in the game, we'll keep believing. There are certain areas of the pitch that have to be absolutely on the money."

Jose Mourinho: "I have only one day, we travel to London and we are travelling to Shrewsbury. We are in trouble because we have so many injured players. Every game is important. Shrewsbury is not a friendly. We have to play matches with respect and the best way to respect Shrewsbury is to go there with a good team."
